Welcome
As an artist my background lies largely in furniture design and construction. My recent work however has moved away from the functional object and more towards the abstract form.
A longheld interest in emotions, fears and passions now hugely influence how i interpret my inspiration. This, combined with an ongoing conflict between the highs and lows of life, the dreams and the demons, the hopes and the horrors, has led me to concentrate fully on exploring the drive I feel to create, and in creating sculpture I find my own form of therapy.
Fears are now faced, things which provoke unease are explored, beauty is championed and anger is expressed.
Thank you to all the people who not only took the time to look at my website, but made the effort to contact me and support me with words of encouragement. Showing any work to people is difficult, but when pieces have evolved from experiences which may have been painful, it can be a scary process to open up parts of your life which you don’t, or can’t put into words. I have been moved by the warmth I have received, and I have been impressed by the obvious acceptance that art isn’t just about looking pretty on a wall, but that it can be the means to encourage us to look harder, think deeper and accept whatever we may find.
